Are You Lonely Tonight?

Loneliness is one of man's greatest enemy...

But sometimes it's better to be in the company of oneself

than to be in the loneliness of a crowd...

I hate to be lonely...

Often times when I say, "Leave me alone!"

I really mean, "Don't leave me!"

Like a babe crying out to the

mother... feed me... hold me... hug me... love me...

A voice desperate for

attention... for love... for acceptance...

Why? Why won't you

love me? Why can't you accept me!

A cry out in

the darkness of my loneliness... echoing... deafening...

"My love are you lonely tonight?" came a voice in the darkness.

Like a candle that shines brightly in the night... the voice

was so clear and warm and affirming...

The voice of my first love... Jesus... a voice of

acceptance... of forgiveness... of love...

He held me close and pressed my head against

His chest...

Into the loving embrace of a long

suffering lover... my Lord Jesus Christ...

"Never will I leave you... never will I forsake you..." He

cried...echoing in the abyss of my loneliness...

Never will I be lonely again... for I have a companion...

Suddenly the hollow is filled... the abyss is no

more... the emptiness is gone...

For I am no longer alone...

My Jesus is by my side... how about

you?
